left-hand right-hand

it's been 2 months since my last blog post. well, even before that i haven't been consistent. i cannot match the pace i started with. not that it matters. i write when i feel like writing and post when i feel like sharing it, even to the void.

hm... my right wrist aches... i will continue this another time...

started: 28-05-2026 continued: 31-05-2026

my right hand hurts for another reason. well 3 reasons.

  1. first off, i played a drinking card game with friends, and one of the prompts was:

play the hand slap game until someone gives up, drink, or quit the game

played that, we didn't have to go hard, but we did. a few rounds later, i pulled the same prompt and did it with the same person in the same hand. stupid. do NOT do that.

because a week later i still have a bruise from it.

  1. second, i think i might've twisted it while packing my stuff.

yup. i'm moving out again. it'll be a constant from now on. not that i will move far, such as another country. i hope i will keep on moving. i don't think i can stay in one place for long. nor do i want that for myself.

well that also depends with the company, i live with others to save rent.

  1. third, haven't seen my brother in ages. i punched his back to say hi and he hissed and turned back with a glare "my back is sore from working out!" oops. tried to dodge his hand with mine and i met his force with my right thumb... so now my right thumb hurts..

a thought came to me when i was cooking breakfast one day.

june's breakfast:

i was using a chopstick while frying the eggplant. i am right-handed so it's on autopilot. then again, my right wrist/hand have been hurting so i switched to using my left hand.

i can use my left hand with anything just not as good as my right.

while frying, i had to focus more on my grip and hold on the chopsticks, trying to flip each circle eggplant before it burns. i started to get frustrated, then i thought, this is probably one of the few times my left-hand is used for frying with a chopstick.

then my thoughts led me to think of it like a child. or say, a younger sibling, or someone trying to learn the ropes from an expert. my right-hand being the expert.

the left-hand is always, just there. watching how right-hand does things with ease that the brain doesn't even need to pay lots of attention on. my left-hand doesn't get plenty of chances to try most of what right-hand does.

so when it does, the brain has to give left-hand more attention so the body can respond, and i'd like to think right-hand encourages left while watching.

it's a spotlight moment for left-hand, yet it still tries. it may not the fastest, cleanest, tidiest result, but with patience, it can catch up.

i also find it wholesome when i write with my left-hand. it's like seeing my inner child. that can be a topic for another blog.

be patient with your non-dominant hand it's trying it's best!
